August 2023: Deloney Co. Adds Power Diagnostic Instrument Company to Line Card
Picture
Power Diagnostic Instrument Company, LLC
PDIC is located in Scottsdale Arizona and was founded by utility professionals with the aim to design, manufacture and market state of the art test instruments for high voltage power apparatus. Our instruments feature the latest technology yet are easy to use by test personnel.

Our instruments provide a simple user interface, with most models featuring a built-in thermal printer to allow users to test the substation apparatus without the need for a PC. Our instruments are field-rugged and easy to transport.

The TR 100 is a microprocessor-based single phase automatic transformer turns ratio test instrument. This field portable lightweight unit is housed in a field rugged case. The TR 100 is designed to test the turns ratio of transformers of any size per the IEEE C57.12.90 standard.
The PFRS-25 can confirm the mechanical integrity of a transformer by comparing the frequency response of the transformer with the previous known results. Every transformer has a unique frequency response system which changes if the mechanical geometry of the transformer is changed. These changes can occur due to physical movement or transportation. The physical geometry can also change if the transformer experiences high fault current due to internal or external fault. The fingerprint comparison of the frequency response system can be used to detect power transformer problems such as: * Core movements * Shorted turns or open windings * Winding displacements or deformations * Winding connection problems * Broken clamping structures
The LRM 200 is a microprocessor-based, true DC micro ohmmeter designed to test the contact resistance of circuit breaker contacts, switchgear, and bus bar joints. It is the instrument every test technician needs to have to maintain circuit breakers, switch gear and busbars. The LRM 200 is designed to meet the IEEE C37.09-1999, IEC62271-100 for GIS factory test and IEC62271-200 for high voltage switchboard factory test for testing circuit breaker contact resistance. The LRM 200’s wide measuring range is 1 micro Ohm to 5 Ohms with 0.1 micro ohm resolution with a current range of 10 A to 200 A. The LRM 200 injects a true DC current through the contacts under test and measures the contact resistance. It can compare the test results against the prescribed limit and make the pass/fail decision. As the rise and fall time is configurable for each test, no transients are induced in the associated apparatus such as current transformers. This avoids tripping of the relays. The LRM 200 is a lightweight (15 Lbs/7.5 kgs) instrument designed for portability and field use.

The Vacuum Circuit Breaker Analyzer 01 (VCBA 01) is Power Diagnostic Instrument Company’s state-of-the-art, field portable, light weight instrument designed for the comprehensive diagnostic testing of vacuum circuit breakers. The VCBA 01 can perform high voltage DC vacuum integrity tests as well as operating time tests on the circuit breaker main contacts. The VCBA 01 applies a test voltage to the vacuum bottle arcing chamber for the time specified in the test settings. While the test voltage is applied to the vacuum circuit breaker arching chamber, the instrument monitors the leakage current to the ground. If the leakage current to the ground remains lower than the set limit, the instrument registers the test as successful. If the leakage current exceeds the set limit, the instrument shuts down and removes the test voltage from the arcing chamber and registers the test as a failed test.
